How to get BACK into ROUTINE: 5 Practical Tips For Re-optimisation

Have you ever gotten back from a sneaky vacation or had an unexpected event happen that knocked you off your striding routine of life optimisation and thought, "what the fuck...I was doing so well. Now it's going to take the force of Zeus and the slingshot of David to get things rolling again..."

Ok maybe you haven't, but I have. Many times.

Life happens, what is the point of optimising your life if you don't enjoy the luxuries of that optimisation.

Hiking a mountain because your body is fit and adaptable sets you apart from 90% of people. Maybe it it a personal example like myself going to a music festival this past weekend. It through me off routine, yes but slice-me-some-cake-and-call-me-Sally it was good. I enjoyed every minute and having the energy to do so was even more liberating.

When I say re-optimisation, what I mean is getting back on track - getting that staggered ball rolling again. It never stopped to begin with, it just slowed down a tad and now it's time to create a fucking avalanche of optimisation to take the quality of your life to the next level.

Regular scheduled days or time-blocks of "cheating" -- eating whatever you like, going on vacations or doing the complete opposite of what you normally do -- is a great release for your mind and body.


5 Tips for Re-optimisation

  1. Don't deprive yourself of Nutrients

    1. The Key word here is "Nutrients." Not shit. Pure, Low-carb, high-fat goodness. Eat as much as you want and don't be ashamed. Your body will adapt quickly. I don't recommend trying Intermittent Fasting when re-optimising.

  2. Drink this at Night:

    1. Camomile tea + Raw unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar + Raw unheated Honey + Ceylon cinnamon -- you will thank me (for details go here).
  3. Win the morning

    1. Win the morning, win the day. Start with making your bed -- it is the smallest possible win that will have a knock-on effect on the rest of your day. Then, have a cold shower -- it will reset your circadian rythem, kickstart your metabolism and tell your body it is time to fuck shit up (note: the last point is purely subjective and not scientifically validated).
  4. Prioritise sleep

    1. Need I say more. Get sleep. Sleep is the ultimate driver of productivity. It took me a while to realise this. Figure out your optimal time in bed, mine is 7-7:30 hours.
  5. Take is easy

    1. Chill. Be grateful for the experiences you had -- good or bad -- this will make you appreciate what is and be present. As Tony Robbins would say, "It is impossible to be fearful and grateful simultaneously -- therefore, gratitude is the antidote to all suffering."
